NVIDIA Partners with Da Nang to Advance AI and Semiconductor Development
On the afternoon of June 28, 2025, the Da Nang Semiconductor and AI Center (DSAC) held a working session with representatives of NVIDIA, marking another step forward in the ongoing collaboration between the city of Da Nang and the global technology enterprise. The meeting took place in the context of Da Nang’s gradual implementation of its strategic orientations in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, with the active participation of various stakeholders from the city’s innovation ecosystem.
Connecting NVIDIA with Da Nang’s AI and Semiconductor Startup Ecosystem
The working session brought together the DSAC leadership and NVIDIA’s delegation, including Dr. Dev Goswami – Head of Developer Ecosystem for ASEAN and Australia–New Zealand, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong – Enterprise Solutions Lead at NVIDIA Vietnam, and Mr. Tran Minh Quan – Senior Technical Development Specialist.
Also in attendance were representatives from Da Nang’s AI ecosystem such as AIAIVN, Alpha Asimov, Greenwich University, Vietnam-Korea University, and the startup Vox Cool. Participants shared challenges related to computing infrastructure, limited access to GPU hardware, academic resources, and expressed strong interest in having NVIDIA expand its Inception Program in Central Vietnam.
Dr. Dev Goswami acknowledged the vibrancy of the AI startup ecosystem in Da Nang and affirmed that NVIDIA would continue to expand its comprehensive support programs—spanning technical assistance, training, and investment connectivity—through initiatives such as the NVIDIA Inception Program, DLI Ambassador, and the AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE). These efforts aim to help foster a strong, globally connected local AI community.
Strategic Vision for Cooperation Between NVIDIA and Da Nang’s AI and Semiconductor Ecosystem
The collaboration between NVIDIA and the city of Da Nang is not the result of a single initiative but stems from a series of coordinated strategic engagements that began in early 2024. During an official visit to the United States and Taiwan (February 2024), Da Nang city leaders met directly with NVIDIA headquarters in Silicon Valley to propose the establishment of a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Center, a Software Development Center, and the potential transfer of partial GPU chip production to Vietnam.
Subsequent site visits and technical discussions in April, June, and November 2024 demonstrated Da Nang’s serious efforts to create a favorable investment environment—from infrastructure planning and workforce development strategies to establishing connections between universities, businesses, and hospitals to promote AI applications.
Initial outcomes are evident across two key pillars:
DLI Ambassador Program
Da Nang now has five officially certified NVIDIA DLI Ambassadors who are delivering AI training based on NVIDIA’s academic resources. Each ambassador trains approximately 200 students per year, with the number expected to reach 500 by 2025.
AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE)
NVIDIA and the city are jointly planning the establishment of a center dedicated to AI training, research, and application across key sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, and smart city development. Scheduled to launch in 2026, the AI CoE will be equipped with NVIDIA DGX infrastructure and AI Enterprise software, aiming to train 3,000 AI engineers and developers for Da Nang and the central region of Vietnam.
Notably, these initiatives are not only focused on training but also serve as a launchpad for local tech startups to access global markets and investors.
With NVIDIA’s active engagement, Da Nang is establishing a critical foundation to become a regional hub for AI and semiconductor development. The city has taken a forward-thinking approach by proactively building a cohesive innovation ecosystem—complete with strategic direction, incentive policies, institutional leadership, and robust international connectivity.
Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Director of DSAC, emphasized:
“The partnership with NVIDIA is not only a gateway to core global technologies, but also a testament to Da Nang’s potential to emerge as a comprehensive high-tech hub—where skilled talent, open policy, and global integration converge.”
It is expected that the establishment of the AI CoE, the implementation of AI ambassadors across local universities, and the development of high-performance computing infrastructure for semiconductor R&D will position Da Nang as a strategic destination for future technology investors in Vietnam.
