The Da Nang FTZ will span over 1,800 hectares across seven non-contiguous locations, primarily concentrated in Lien Chieu District and Hoa Vang District. These areas include:

• Site 1 (100 ha) and Site 2 (77 ha) in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District

• Site 3 (500 ha) spanning Hoa Hiep Bac and Hoa Lien

• Site 4 (559 ha) in Hoa Ninh

• Site 5 (90 ha) in Hoa Ninh

• Site 6 (154 ha) across Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh

• Site 7 (401 ha) in Hoa Nhon and Hoa Phu, Hoa Vang District

Speaking at the event, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh called the initiative a breakthrough inspired by the long-term vision of the Da Nang leadership, especially in the context of deepening national integration. He emphasized that this model represents not only a new development chapter for Da Nang—especially in light of the forthcoming administrative merger with Quang Nam—but also unlocks new growth potential for both the region and the country. The FTZ lays a critical foundation for Vietnam to pilot next-generation economic models that are smart, green, digital, and globally adaptive.

On behalf of the Government, the Deputy Prime Minister extended his congratulations and reaffirmed strong institutional and administrative support from the central government. He urged relevant ministries to expedite the design of superior incentive mechanisms, upgrade seaport and airport infrastructure, expand FTZ development areas, attract international experts, and draw lessons from global success stories such as Singapore, China, and the UAE.

He also expressed confidence in Da Nang’s leadership, praising their progressive mindset, decisive action, and capability to attract strategic investors. “The city’s ambitious projects will soon come to life,” he affirmed, “and contribute to building a dynamic, modern, and regionally competitive Da Nang.”

On behalf of the city, Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quang expressed sincere gratitude for the trust and close guidance from the central government. He noted that following the anticipated announcement of the Da Nang–Quang Nam merger (expected June 30), the FTZ’s formation is a necessary step toward realizing the vision of building a major urban center and regional economic hub. The city will now focus on four key priorities: developing a tailored regulatory framework, accelerating infrastructure investment, selecting strategic investors, and expanding development in a sustainable, green, and digital direction.

Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, highlighted that the FTZ reflects not only a bold shift in development thinking but also the city’s determination to pioneer institutional reform and establish an internationally competitive economic zone. The FTZ will integrate key functional areas such as production, logistics, commerce, services, digital technology, innovation, and supporting facilities in accordance with national regulations.

This initiative also opens new space for high-tech industries, particularly semiconductors and artificial intelligence—identified as key sectors in Vietnam’s national digital transformation strategy. The synergy between the FTZ’s special policy mechanisms and DSAC’s role as a technology connector is expected to attract investors and enterprises across the value chain, laying the groundwork for a sustainable high-tech supply ecosystem and reinforcing Da Nang’s position on the regional innovation map.
