Korea – Vietnam ICT Cooperation Prospect Conference: Diverse Perspectives and Opportunities for Collaboration.
On August 16, 2024, the Korea–Vietnam ICT Cooperation Prospect Conference was held at CGV Vincom in Da Nang City. The event attracted numerous representatives from organizations, research institutes, and enterprises in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector from both countries.
During the conference, experts shared diverse perspectives on the current state and future of South Korea’s semiconductor industry. This sector, considered one of the key pillars of the South Korean economy, is drawing particular interest from Vietnam. The exchange of experience and lessons learned from Korea’s semiconductor success story not only broadens Vietnam’s knowledge base but also opens up many future collaboration opportunities.
A major highlight of the conference was the presentation by experts from the Vietnam–Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST). These experts discussed the challenges and opportunities within the semiconductor sector and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries. They also underlined the crucial role of research institutes in driving innovation and technological advancement, aiming to enhance both nations’ competitiveness on the global stage.

The Da Nang Center for IC Design and Artificial Intelligence Research and Training (DSAC) also participated in the conference and made important contributions. The DSAC Center emphasized the significance of setting a strategic direction for the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries in Da Nang. DSAC also expressed its desire to closely collaborate with Korean partners to fully leverage the potential of the ICT sector.
At the conference, Hana Micron, one of South Korea’s leading companies in semiconductor manufacturing and solutions, also delivered important insights. With extensive experience and advanced technology, Hana Micron plays a strategic role in promoting the development of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry. The company not only provides cutting-edge technological solutions but also actively participates in technology transfer and workforce training, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese partners in the global market. Collaboration with Hana Micron is seen as a key factor in helping Vietnam quickly catch up with global technology trends in the semiconductor field.
This conference was not only an opportunity for knowledge exchange and mutual learning but also a bridge to strengthen deeper cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam in the ICT sector. With the active participation of research and training institutions like DSAC, the prospects for collaboration between the two countries promise to grow stronger, contributing to elevating both nations’ positions in the global high-tech industry.
