DSAC Welcomes and Works with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

On September 24, 2025, the Da Nang Semiconductor and AI Center (DSAC) welcomed a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), including:
– Prof. Tsuyoshi Usagawa – Former Executive Vice President, Kumamoto University
– Mr. Yoshitomo Kubo – Deputy Chief Representative, JICA Vietnam Office
– Mr. Naotaka Nishikawa – Senior Advisor, JICA
During the meeting, JICA representatives introduced the functions, mission, and history of the organization – a pioneering agency implementing Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs on behalf of the Government of Japan. JICA plays a pivotal role in promoting international cooperation for sustainable development. Over the decades, JICA has made significant contributions in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and science–technology in many countries, including Vietnam.
On behalf of DSAC, Ms. Hoàng Thùy Dương – Head of Research and International Cooperation, presented an overview of the ecosystem and the special incentive policies for semiconductor and AI enterprises in Da Nang. These policies demonstrate the city’s strong commitment to creating a favorable environment for innovation and the development of high-quality human resources.

The JICA delegation expressed particular interest in human resource training, as well as policies supporting experts and students in the semiconductor and AI fields. This meeting served as an opportunity for both sides to exchange information, gain deeper understanding, and strengthen connections moving forward.

 The working session took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, marking a meaningful milestone in enhancing mutual understanding, information sharing, and expanding networks between DSAC and JICA, thereby laying the foundation for future international cooperation in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
On September 25, 2025, the JICA delegation visited the University of Science and Technology – University of Danang and Duy Tan University. During these exchanges, JICA expressed interest in academic programs, student quality, and human resource development strategies. In response, both universities expressed their willingness to collaborate with JICA in multiple areas, including student exchanges, inviting Japanese lecturers and experts to teach, organizing academic workshops, and promoting technology transfer.
