From December 16 to 20, 2024, 15 lecturers from Da Nang schools will participate in the Semiconductor Lecturer Certification Program in Hanoi.

In an effort to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, from December 16 to 20, 2024, 15 lecturers from universities and colleges in Da Nang participated in the Semiconductor Faculty Certification (SFC) program in Hanoi. This program is organized by the University of Arizona (USA) with funding from the International Technology Innovation and Security Fund under the U.S. Department of State. The SFC program is designed to enhance the knowledge and professional skills of lecturers in the area of semiconductor packaging and testing—a critical field in the high-tech industry value chain. With certification from the University of Arizona, participating lecturers will become key contributors to building advanced training programs that connect educational institutions with businesses.

Semiconductor Lecturer Certification Program in Hanoi

Before participating in the program in Hanoi, the lecturers completed two online courses over two months, from September to November 2024, focusing on the theory of semiconductor packaging and testing techniques. In this program, the lecturers continued to learn directly from leading industry experts and worked in teams to develop and refine a draft training program that aligns with business practices and meets the workforce development needs in Vietnam.

In addition to team activities and hands-on practice, the lecturers also had the opportunity to visit the Amkor Technology factory in Bac Ninh, one of the most advanced manufacturing and testing facilities in the semiconductor field. This visit helped the lecturers gain a better understanding of the processes and technical requirements in a real work environment.

The program not only enhances the lecturers’ training capabilities but also creates an important bridge between businesses and educational institutions. The knowledge and skills transferred from the program will support the lecturers in developing and implementing new courses, contributing to the training of a high-quality workforce for the semiconductor industry in Da Nang and Vietnam as a whole.

This is an important step in building a new learning ecosystem based on collaboration between businesses, educational institutions, lecturers, and students, aimed at meeting the demand for high-quality human resources in the semiconductor field in Da Nang and across the country. Recognizing that high technology development, particularly in the semiconductor industry, is a breakthrough area for economic growth, Vietnam aims to train 50,000 engineers, including 35,000 engineers for packaging testing processes. By 2030, Da Nang aims to provide at least 5,000 professionals in the semiconductor industry, positioning the city as one of the high-tech industrial and supporting industry centers in the country.
