Da Nang Established Semiconductor And Artificial Intelligence Centre

The People’s Committee of Da Nang City has just decided to establish the Da Nang Center for Research and Training on IC Design and Artificial Intelligence according to Decision No. 2941/QD-UBND dated December 29, 2023. This is a unit under the Department of Information and Communications, has legal status, can use a seal and open accounts for transactions according to regulations.

DSAC Center has a streamlined apparatus including: Board of Directors and 2 specialized departments (Administrative and Training Department; Scientific Research and International Cooperation Department).

The center has three main functions: training and fostering in the fields of circuit design, semiconductors and artificial intelligence; Support attracting investment in the field of semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence; associate and cooperate with domestic and foreign partners; Support and promote research and incubation of start-up businesses in the fields of IC design, semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

In the period 2024-2025, DSAC Center focuses on completing the legal framework on organizational and operational structure, job placement projects, and consolidating human resources and facilities; Proposing a draft policy mechanism for developing the field of microchips and artificial intelligence; Deploying training and fostering activities and international cooperation activities, supporting businesses.

Establishing the DSAC Center is one of the activities that concretizes the city’s political determination in implementing the urgent and strategic tasks mentioned above. DSAC Center is identified as a specialized focal point to help the Department of Information and Communications advise City leaders. Da Nang develops and implements a project to develop semiconductor chips and microchips in the area in the coming time.

Within the framework of the discussion, representatives of the city’s leaders provided information about the content and roadmap for developing specific policies to encourage and support the development of the IC design and artificial intelligence industry that the city is implementing.
