On the afternoon of April 28, 2025, at Da Nang Software Park No. 2, the Da Nang People’s Committee, in collaboration with Arizona State University (USA), held a working session to promote cooperation in Assembly, Testing, and Packaging (ATP) training, aiming to develop a skilled workforce in the semiconductor industry.
The session was chaired by Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, and attended by 30 delegates, including university leaders, department heads, faculty members, and education administrators from higher education institutions across the city.
During the session, the two sides discussed key areas of cooperation, including the progress of ATP training collaboration with Da Nang and a roadmap for implementing semiconductor workforce development. They also exchanged ideas on selecting students and lecturers to participate in Master’s, PhD, and Postdoctoral programs, as well as specialized English training for the semiconductor field—supported either by Arizona State University or Da Nang’s local budget under Resolution 57/2024/NQ-HĐND. In addition, they explored joint research projects, student-faculty exchange initiatives, and certified training programs aligned with the needs of the semiconductor industry.
Da Nang also proposed that Arizona State University support promoting and connecting the city’s semiconductor and AI policy incentives to businesses and research institutions in the state of Arizona.
On this occasion, Mr. Ho Ky Minh presented a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee to Mr. Jeffrey Goss, Vice Provost of Arizona State University, in recognition of his significant contributions to Da Nang’s socio-economic development in 2024. (The award was originally announced at the 2025 Da Nang Forum on Friendly and Cooperative Cities, held on January 17, 2025.)
Previously, under the framework of this collaboration, Arizona State University organized a semiconductor testing and packaging training course for 17 lecturers from Da Nang’s educational institutions—laying the groundwork for future ATP training implementation in the city.
This working session marked an important milestone in realizing Da Nang’s strategy to develop high-quality human resources in the semiconductor sector—one of the city’s key technology priorities for the 2025–2030 period.
